What's In Your Vineyard?

Oh...just look at those grapes! Somewhere in California, probably, this photo was snapped. Some photographer was most likely standing amidst acres and acres of lush, ripe, purpley-black grapes, bound for a bottle of Cabernet or Merlot or Shiraz. That photographer probably felt the sun on her back, the warm breeze on her cheek, and heard the music of insects and birds in the air. Ahhhh...what a life! Too bad we can’t all have that moment, right?

Gotcha! Why can’t we? Of course we can! Whether you know it or not, those luscious grapes are right in front of you, right this very second. They’re just in disguise!

“Abundance” (just like "gratitude") is a pretty overused buzz word right now, but really, if we put on the right glasses and look around, we can’t help but discover that we’re swimming in it.

At this moment, I’m sitting in an Einstein’s Bagels in Atlanta, GA. Where are my grapes? It’s warm in here, for starters, which is bliss for me! There are faces everywhere I look, just waiting to smile when I connect with them and smile first. I just got to eat cream cheese. And my best friend is about to meet me. I was able to take a spontaneous trip simply to support her as she ventures into the world of public speaking as a life coach, something she was excited but scared about. I have a car that got me here, a loving partner to go home to, and the sun is shining outside.

Do I have the balance in my bank account that I’d like to have? Not today.
Do I have the closet full of clothes I want? Nope.
Are all the people in the world behaving exactly as I wish they would? Not a chance!

But am I standing in a luscious, abundant vineyard? Absolutely! It’s right here, and the grapes are ripe for the plucking...all I have to do is look up, see that they’re there, and reach out for a taste...
